The primary motivation for this project was summed up succinctly in the words of this artist’s manager:
The backend on Wordpress has been a complete nightmare with updates to the system and certain aspects no longer functioning the way we would like.
Dead Space’s fast-growing popularity also called for a refresh of his brand; something more clean and edgy to fall in line with his brand and music style.
Ensuring that all the most relevant information is presented in a way that is clean, brief, and easy to find was the top priority for this project. To achieve this, we opted for a single-page, long scrolling style homepage featuring a vertical, side navigation that facilitates easy navigation and auto scrolling to each key section.
This new site can now be used as a central hub for Dead Space to showcase new music releases, upcoming tour dates, news articles via the easy-to-use blog functionality, and booking requests in an all-inclusive manner that is a great deal more effective than disconnected social media platforms.
The three most recent blog articles are automatically updated and displayed on the home page, upcoming tour dates are pulled from SongKick, new music is pulled from SoundCloud, and the images in the photo gallery are pulled directly from Instagram so there is never any need to make manual updates and the yet the site is always up to date.
